The short answer: Craigslist took its Personals section offline in the US on March 22, 2018, including on Craigslist Dallas. No single site replaced it. Personal ads in Dallas-Fort Worth now live on Reddit’s r/r4rDFW, on classified-style sites such as Doublelist and SeekingList, in Locanto’s personals section, and in text-first apps including AseeksB. On October 7, 2026, we read the 20 newest Dallas ads on three of them.
Dallas-Fort Worth is not one city, and the people who post here know it. Dallas and Fort Worth sit about 30 miles apart, and around and between them are Arlington, Irving, Plano, Frisco, Denton, Garland and a dozen more places that each feel like their own town. Even the local Reddit board makes you say which one you are in.
That is the case for a written ad here. Say which part of the Metroplex you are in, how far you will drive, and what you want, and the people who answer already know whether Oak Cliff to Frisco is a reasonable ask.
The sites that replaced Craigslist Personals in other US cities serve Dallas-Fort Worth too. Here is how each works for Dallas-Fort Worth, from our checks on October 7, 2026:
On October 7, 2026, we read the 20 newest Dallas ads on three of these sites and counted the escort ads. On Doublelist, 2 were escort ads. On Locanto, 6 were, all posted as women; the men’s ads looked like ordinary personal ads. On SeekingList, all 7 ads posted as women were escort ads, and one of them had appeared in another city’s listings; another listing was an r/r4rDFW post that had since been deleted on Reddit, and most of the 20 came from the wider metro area rather than Dallas itself. The r/r4rDFW posts we read were ordinary personal ads, and the board is heavily moderated. Passing this test doesn’t make an ad genuine: an ad can look ordinary and still try to move you to another app once you reply. Lex and AseeksB ads can’t be read without an account, so they weren’t counted. How we check.

Craigslist Dallas has had no Personals section since March 2018, and searches for “craigslist dallas personals” fell 88% over the past year, to about 140 a month (Google Keyword Planner, October 2026). Its missed connections section, under Community, is small but real: when we checked on October 7, 2026, it had 7 posts from the previous two months, all genuine missed connections. Austin’s r/atx4atx had about 2,100 (see personal ads in Austin), and San Antonio’s r/satx4satx is restricted and quiet, with about 300. The Personals Archive’s only Texas ad so far ran in the El Paso Herald in 1912.
A written ad answers the which-part-of-the-Metroplex question before anyone has to ask it.
One honest difference: AseeksB ads can only be read inside the app after signing up, unlike Reddit’s board and most of the classified sites above. That is the trade for choosing exactly who sees each post, and first messages stay in the app, where you can report someone even after they unmatch.

Posting needs a Reddit account more than 48 hours old, every title must name a specific part of the Metroplex, and you can post once a week. Seeking affairs or cheating is banned.
