If you are looking for sites like Locanto, you are probably looking for what its Personals section offers: free classified ads, sorted by city, that anyone can read. Locanto is a general classifieds site, with jobs, housing and services alongside its Personals section, and it often comes up as a Craigslist Personals replacement.
We checked Locanto and five other personal-ad sites on October 4, 2026. AseeksB publishes this page and is one of the sites compared. No site here pays us, and there are no referral links.
We checked Locanto for our comparison of Craigslist Personals alternatives. It keeps seven of the eight Craigslist traits we measure. Ads show a username, a rating and followers, so it is only partly anonymous. Here is what we found:
These are the other sites in our comparison, with what stood out. Each name links to its full entry.
AseeksB keeps what people liked about classified personals, an ad in your own words that people can answer directly, and adds the controls classifieds never had.
AseeksB Supporter adds more control when you want it: more active posts, advanced search, traveling mode, more views and messages, and stronger filters like requiring a photo before someone can message you.
Locanto's Personals section is free and open to read, but it has no audience controls, and when we checked, half of the newest New York ads had a phone number or offered paid escort services. If you want the directness of a classified personal ad with more control over who sees it and who can reply, AseeksB is built for that.
Text-first personal ads in your own words. Supporter adds more posts, advanced controls, and more messaging power when you want them.

Posting in Locanto's Personals section is free. Free accounts can start 10 new chats a day, and paid tiers add top spots and a phone number field.
