Habits have always been part of the personal ad. In the nineteenth century it was moral habits and sober; in 1942 a Washington ad formed a club for non-smoking people. Print personals of the 1980s and 1990s cut it to NS, ND and SD. ND is ambiguous: some writers meant no drugs, others non-drinker.
