March 9, 1921, was a Wednesday, and the notice ran again the next day, among the paper’s special notices under the heading Notice. Ottowa is a misprint for Ottawa, a town in eastern Kansas about 1,000 miles from Phoenix. S. B. gives no address, so Tom would have had to write to Ottawa again, and the notice doesn’t say why it ran in Phoenix. The closing bs is the paper’s insertion code. Public domain in the United States: published before 1931.
Transcribed from the page image and checked against the original; spelling and punctuation are as printed, and words broken across lines are rejoined. Capital letters are also as printed: papers set the first line of each ad in capitals, so the capitals stop wherever that line ended, sometimes in the middle of a word.
